FAQs

After being built off-site, usually in a factory, the home is then transported in pieces to the site and assembled on a foundationAnd once assembled, the remaining work for the home (e.g. carpentry, flooring, heating, plumbing, electrical, etc.) is undertaken until the home is finished.

Modular homes are not mobile homes or manufactured homes.  Mobile homes and manufactured homes are generally not placed on permanent foundations, whereas modular homes are placed on permanent foundations.  Additionally, modular homes are built in accordance to a code based on the International Residential Code (IRC), which is the same code adhered to by site builders. Mobile homes, however, are based on the Housing & Urban Development (HUD) code, which is much less stringent.

A traditional site-built home is assembled on-site over a span of time, which leaves the home vulnerable to flaws and imperfections resulting from weather effects and hasty construction practices. These small problems can add up to larger issues or worsen over time.

However, a modular home, since it is built in a controlled environment factory setting, experiences no weathering effects during its construction process. Furthermore, when the home is transported to its permanent foundation, the home is typically assembled within a day, which means there is no chance of internal materials being affected by wind, moisture, or sun radiation.

This level of quality control is not possible with traditional stick-built homes, and that’s just one of the benefits.
